Part Time Commis ($15 per hour)

What do we expect of you

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Part-Time Commis Chef to join our culinary team. As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic and fast-paced hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to the hotel’s standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all food preparation areas meet health and safety regulations.
  • Follow recipes and instructions as directed by the senior chefs.
  • Handle mise en place, including cutting, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Monitor and report stock levels and assist in stock rotation.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Passion for food and a willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
